Education Now And The Future

Education is a human being needs throughout hayat.Setiap need education, until whenever and wherever it is located. Education is very important, because without humans would be difficult to develop education and even going backward. Thus education should really be directed to produce high quality human and able to compete, in addition to having a noble character and morals.

Educational goals which we hope is to develop the intellectual life of the nation and the whole Indonesian people, the man who is faithful and obedient to God Almighty and the virtuous noble character, has the knowledge and skills, physical and spiritual health, a stable personality, independence and sense of responsibility community and nationhood. "Education should be able to prepare citizens to actively participate in all field of life, intelligent, active, creative, skilled, honest, disciplined and highly moral, democratic, and tolerant with emphasis on national unity rather than divisiveness.

Considering the education of children with preparing for future generations. Heart of a child is like a photographic plate that does not display anything, ready to reflect on all that is displayed to him.

The four pillars of education now and the future, initiated by UNESCO to be developed by formal education institutions, namely: (1) Learning to Know (learning to learn), (2) learning to do (learn to do something) in this case we are required for skillful in doing something, (3) learning to be (studying to become a person), and (4) learning to live together (learning to live together).

In order to realize the 'learning to know', teachers should act as facilitators. In addition, teachers are required to act as peers in dialogue with students in developing mastery of particular knowledge or science.

Learning to do (learn to do something) will be able to walk if the school facilitates the students to actualize its skills and talents and interests. Although the child's talents and interests of many affected offspring but growing element of the development of talents and interests depend on the environment. Skills can be used to sustain the life of someone even more dominant than the mastery of skills knowledge in supporting the success of one's life.

Education should be applied in accordance with community needs or the needs of the area where education takes place. Local content elements should be developed in accordance with local needs.

learning to be (studying to become a person) closely related to their talents and interests, physical and psychological development, personal typology of children and the environment. For children who have aggressive, self-development process will run when given the opportunity large enough to be creative. In contrast to passive children, teachers and teachers' role as director as well as a facilitator is needed to maximize student development.

The habit of living together, mutual respect, open, give and receive (take and give), be developed. Such conditions allow the process of "learning to live together" (learning to live together). Application of this fourth pillar is felt more and more important in the globalization era / era of global competition. Thus, the demands of present and future education should be aimed at improving the quality of intellectual and professional abilities and attitudes, personality and human moral Indonesia in general. With the ability and the attitude of Indonesian people are thus expected to put themselves in a dignified manner in the world community in this era of globalization.

Regarding the trend of the decline in educational achievement over the years, anticipatory steps that need to be done is to strive for increasing public participation in education, improving the quality and relevance of education, and improvement of management at all levels, lines and types of education. To improve the quality of education in the region, especially in districts, should be studied first objective conditions of the elements related to the quality of education, namely: (1) How is the teacher? (Distribution, qualifications, competence mastery, competence, learning, social and personal competence, the level of welfare), (2) How can the curriculum be addressed and treated by teachers and local education officials?; (3) How the learning materials used by students and teachers? (Proportion of books with the students, the quality of textbooks), (4) What is referred to as a learning resource by teachers and students?; (5) What is the condition of existing learning infrastructure?; (6) Are there any other learning support facilities? (School and community networks, networks between schools, school networks with information centers), (7) How do climatic conditions existing learning?.

Quality education can be improved by performing a series of improvements to all the problems we are facing. Fixing it can be a revamping of the educational curriculum that can provide at least basic skills and abilities, applying the concept of mastery learning and generate creative attitudes, democratic and independent. Need identified the elements that exist in areas that can be utilized to facilitate the process of improving the quality of education, in addition to local governments, for example group of experts, student associations, local NGOs, universities, mass organizations, political organizations, the center of publishing, radio studios / local TV, media / print areas, internet sites, and centers of learning.
